Woodworker's Vise, 9-Inch By 7-Inch
The Pony Woodworker's Vise is designed for medium-duty use in home, shop, or professional settings. It is intended to be mounted on the face of woodwork benches, with the top edges of the jaws typically flush with the bench top. Some work benches may require modifications, such as mortising out part of the bench face or adding wood shims, to allow the jaws to sit flush with the surface.
The vise features drilled holes in the jaws, allowing for the attachment of wood facings to protect the work piece. The front jaw is equipped with a solid steel dog, which, when used in conjunction with a bench stop, enables secure holding of oversized workpieces on the bench top.
Smooth operation of the vise is ensured by the use of an Acme thread main screw and twin guide bars made of plated steel. The vise has a 7-inch jaw width and a maximum opening capacity of 9 inches. The castings are made of grey iron with an orange baked enamel finish.
The Pony Woodworker's Vise is manufactured by the Chicago-based Pony Tools Inc., formerly known as Adjustable Clamp Co., which was established in 1903 and is the producer of all Pony and Jorgensen products. The vises are imported from China.
